Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Training (Level 1)
Course Overview:
Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Training (Level 1) is an introductory course designed for healthcare workers.
This training aims to equip healthcare staff with fundamental knowledge regarding pertinent legislation. Specifically, safeguarding training will guarantee that healthcare personnel possess a foundational understanding of the legislation concerning safeguarding adults.

Course Topics:
- Key safeguarding information and appropriate action to take if there are concerns.
- Identify your professional role, responsibilities, and professional boundaries.
- Recognise potential indicators of abuse, harm and neglect
- Know what action to take if they have concerns, including to whom you should report your concerns and from whom to seek advice.
Learning Outcome:
By the end of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the concept of safeguarding and its importance in protecting adults at risk of abuse.
- Recognize different types of abuse and their signs and symptoms.
- Familiarize participants with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines related to safeguarding adults.
- Develop skills in assessing and responding to suspected cases of abuse.
- Understand the principles of person-centred approaches in safeguarding.
- Enhance communication skills for effectively addressing safeguarding concerns.
- Promote awareness of the roles and responsibilities of different agencies and professionals in safeguarding adults.
Target Participants: All staff working in healthcare settings.
Duration: 3-4 hours or ½ day
Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Samson Training certificate.
