• Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 – the primary framework for workplace safety, health and welfare in Ireland, including employer and employee duties and requirements relating to risk management, instruction, training and supervision.
• Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007–2023 – these Regulations apply to workplaces generally and include specific requirements for Work at Height under Part 4, Regulations 94–119.
• Part 4 – Work at Height – covers the planning, organisation and supervision of work at height, risk assessment, emergency and rescue planning, selection and inspection of work equipment, prevention of falls, weather conditions, fragile surfaces and prevention of falling objects.
The course reinforces the Irish requirement that work at height should be planned, organised and carried out by competent persons, with appropriate measures taken to avoid, prevent or reduce the risks associated with falls.

Recently Booked an IOSH Health and Safety Course through Samson. Samson did not directly provide the training but I found them easy and reliable to deal through they found a course provider to best suit my requirements. I really enjoyed the course and the course instructor through her own experience was able to provide real life examples of Health and Safety Issues. There was interaction with Q & A’s between different sections of the course which kept the course interesting.Posted on Google![]()
