Irish Legislation Supported

This training supports management responsibilities within Irish workplaces under:

• Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
• Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007–2020

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 places duties on employers relating to safety management, employee information and training, risk assessment, safety statements and protective measures.

Section 19 of the Act requires employers to identify workplace hazards, assess associated risks, maintain written risk assessments and implement necessary improvements.

The General Application Regulations provide a framework covering workplace safety and health duties across areas including work equipment, PPE, manual handling, display screen equipment and training and instruction.

Important: IOSH Managing Safely is an IOSH course rather than an Irish statutory qualification. The Irish legislation section explains the workplace legal context in which managers may apply the knowledge gained from the course.

Recently Booked an IOSH Health and Safety Course through Samson. Samson did not directly provide the training but I found them easy and reliable to deal through they found a course provider to best suit my requirements. I really enjoyed the course and the course instructor through her own experience was able to provide real life examples of Health and Safety Issues. There was interaction with Q & A’s between different sections of the course which kept the course interesting.
